As noted in the Activity Introduction, what must you do to receive a grade for an InQuizitive activity?

Every time you interact with a question, a pop-up window will tell you whether your response is correct or incorrect, and it will usually give you additional feedback to support your learning. Which types of feedback can you expect to receive from InQuizitive?

You might have to guess on this question and risk getting it wrong—that's okay! InQuizitive is for learning, so do your best and

As you’ve seen, you can adjust your confidence level on each question using the Question Confidence slider. What happens when you increase the confidence level for a question?

When you answer the question correctly on the first try, it – the number of points you’ll earn.

When you answer incorrectly while attempting the question, it – the number of points you’ll lose.

If your instructor is assigning InQuizitive through your school Learning Management System (LMS) course (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, Moodle, etc.), you should always complete activities by going through those course links rather than logging in directly to the InQuizitive website.

If you’ve completed an InQuizitive activity but your grade isn’t showing up in your Learning Management System gradebook, what is the first thing you should do?

Every question in InQuizitive is tied to a learning objective or section in your text. Your Activity Report shows your performance on those objectives, based on your question responses.

To view your Activity Report, click on the Activity Score box (to the right if you’re on a computer, or at the bottom on a smartphone).

Imagine the sample Activity Report below is yours. Select the Learning Objective where you should spend the most time reviewing before a midterm or final exam.

Find the Question Confidence slider (to the right if you’re on a computer, or at the bottom on a smartphone). Try sliding the ball to adjust your confidence level. You determine how many points you can gain or lose on each question by adjusting this slider.

Game-like elements aren’t meant just to make InQuizitive more fun. Studies show that pausing to reflect on your own learning leads to greater success in a course because you gain more awareness of which concepts or topics you understand and which you may need to study more.

Match the number of points you can lose or earn to the confidence level.

Read the passage below about how your InQuizitive activity is graded. Drag the labels to fill in the blanks.

You can check the – box at any time to see how many more questions you need to answer to receive a grade. To get a perfect grade (100%) on the activity, you must reach a designated – Score.

InQuizitive is a formative quizzing tool, which means it is designed to help you learn. Your responses help you and your instructor identify what concepts or topics you understand, and what you need to study more. Every response, even a wrong answer, is an opportunity for growth and learning. First, click on Quizmo’s pizza slice to see what incorrect feedback looks like and how it guides you to the correct answer.

If you answer the minimum number of questions for an activity before you reach the Target Score, your initial grade will be calculated this way:

Points Earned So Far Target Score=Initial Grade

Let’s look at an example.

Suppose you’re working on an activity where the Target Score is 1,000 points. If you’ve just answered the minimum number of questions and have earned 500 points, your initial grade is –. However, if you keep answering questions and eventually reach 1,000 points, your grade will improve to –, no matter how many questions it takes you to get there.

If you get a question wrong, you immediately lose the points displayed on the confidence slider. But don’t give up or start guessing! If you answer the question correctly on your next attempt, you can usually earn back half of those points.

Taking the time to read the question, the ebook, and the incorrect answer feedback will help you to reach the Target Score faster. And you’ll learn while doing it!

Why should you carefully read the feedback when you get a question wrong?
